What we did:
- “Valenzia I’m crying this is so incredible”. ✅ Achievement Unlocked: brought client to tears
- Recorded an episode for the #RemoteRuby Podcast
- Dug deeply into the internals of searchkick to emerge with a custom solution for advanced searching.
- Designed new slides for an series A investment pitch deck
- Presented a new logo to a client and got a great response!
- Working on rethinking and redesigning a new marketing website for the Improv Effect
- Began working on t-shirt designs for Madison+ Ruby
- Found cute pics of me at Madison+ Ruby back in 2013. Very full circle that I’m working on it a decade later.
- Began working on a dream to start a product hotline where teams can call and leave their not-NDA-violating questions for us to answer on our Flagrant blog
- Launched the new design for Training Tracker 🎊
- Registered Flagrant to do business in Vermont
- Configuring components and a UI kit in Figma for a client, optimizing for accessibility and ease of use
- Kicked off some very cool product improvements for a new client.
- Took deep breaths and leaned into change.
- Added this Schedule a call link to my LinkedIn about 8-weeks back and someone used it today for the first time.

- The complexity that is designing a systematic approach of semantic color variables to support dark mode and theming
- The fog of migraine after effects
- Destroyed another keyboard by spilling kombucha on it this time (last time it was milk tea)
What we’re buying:
- animal-proof trash bin locks
- maybe some dog fencing, if the pros can’t come soon
- A rug and couch
- Plants! Native Plants!
- New canvases
- Ingredients for birthday bundt cakes
- Tickets to a live-scored screening of the Labyrinth in October at a fancy local theater
What we’re celebrating:
- trading in suburban life for a more rural existence
- A break in the heat
- My native prickly pear cactus is blossoming and has put out new pups and paddles
- Blooming pepperomia
- Family Lobster-fest: annual seafood extravaganza that takes places every year in June
- The turmeric plants that have come back bigger and better this year and are taking over the front yard
- Finding a great new boarder for the dogs
- Courthouse weddings!
