What we did:
- Conducted a multi-day product design sprint with a new client in construction management around diversity, equity, and inclusion compliance
- Replaced a custom file-uploading component with OneSchema
- Figured out how to wire up a background job with action cable
- Met with a transportation company about helping to design and build a new platform
- Added flare and sparkle to the RubyConf website that lives up to Val’s design and creates a better experience for the conference attendees
- Began adding new content sections for Flagrant’s website to educate and sell our quick wins to potential clients
- Did a dress rehearsal for Rails World emcee with Amanda Perino and Rebecca Miller-Webster
- Delivered final assets to Rocky Mountain Ruby (badges and stickers!)
- Created new postcards/info cards for Training Tracker and sent them to print
- Updated a component library in Figma to use Font Awesome, which we learned has a wonderful Figma component!
- Explored the solid suite of gems (solid_queue, solid_cable, solid_cache) that are becoming defaults in Rails 8
- Chatted as a team about Marketing for Weirdos during Clap & Cringe
- Added ActionCable support for live updates of shared discussions in an AI driven chat application
- Wrote a blog post on using ActionCable with TurboStreams
- Created a quick screencast of how to export an image from Figma that was getting cropped/cut off for a coworker:
